Among any other seasons of the year the summer is the most damaging and troublesome for your hair. The damages caused by the summer can be really dangerous and permanent. The scorching heat and the UV rays of the sun during this season is the most damaging factors for your hair. And there should never be any mistake and negligence of the proper hair care during this season. Any negligence on your part can be vicious for your hair and would leave your hair in real misery. Therefore you should be more careful about your hair during the very months of summer.
Getting out in the summer sun without taking any protection is the most careless thing you can ever do to your hair. Therefore forget to put on a scarf or a straw hat before getting out in the sun. You should always avoid the direct exposure of your hair to the UV rays of the sun. The UV rays can cause permanent damage to the outside covering of the hair. Which is the cuticle and can penetrate into the center of the hair, which is the cortex. To avoid sunburn of the hair you should take all the necessary steps to protect it. Besides wearing a scarf or a hat you can use sun protection filters like leave-in hair products with SPF protection. This will help in avoiding the direct exposure of the hair to the sun.
During this season you should also prevent static in the hair when washing by applying a conditioner that adds moisture and shine to your hair. Alternatively you can also use leave-in conditioner after towel drying your hair. Leave-in conditioners are designed in such a way that they can penetrate or settle down into the cuticle layer, thus protecting the hair from getting damaged.
During the summer season try to avoid blow-drying your hair. Rather consider your hair to air dry or take some time out from curling your hair. Hair braided when wet will air dry into beautiful waves.
And when the summer heat is in its peak, how about wearing your hair up in a knot, bun or braid? This will give you a new styling as well as giving you and your hair some relief from the heat. Wash your hair with a deep cleansing shampoo and dab conditioner on ends and the frizziest parts of your hair. Pin it up or wrap it in plastic and sleep on it. By doing this, the absent moisture of your hair would be restored.
And last but not the least always be careful about choosing your hair products during the summer season. Always try to have some natural hair products as much as possible. Avoid any kind of product that contains alcohol or formaldehyde as they can leave your hair too much dry. Always read the labels carefully before purchasing your hair product.
